If you love the great outdoors, then chances are that you love camping. Going camping is a wonderful hobby and popular way to vacation. Families, singles, and couples alike enjoy camping. If you are one of the many out there who enjoys camping, then check out some of our favorite spots for camping in the United States.
1. Brookville Lake in Brookville, Indiana. This spot ranks number one on our list for a few reasons. Brookville Lake is 5,260 acres and is in the heart of the historic Whitewater River Valley. The scenery in this part of the country simply cannot be beat.
2. Mueller State Park in Divide, Colorado is full of excellent camp sites. You can find many secluded spots so you feel like you are getting away from the hassles of the world. There’s also showers and restroom facilities. Be sure to book early, especially if you are coming during a holiday, as Mueller State Park is a very popular destination.
3. Yosemite National Park. Of course, Yosemite makes our list of great places to camp. You can come here year round, although you’ll likely want to avoid the winter months as it can get cold in Northern California. There’s beautiful hiking trails and incredible views here in Yosemite. Be sure to take a walk among the giant sequoias while you’re in Yosemite.
4. Wolf Creek Dam Lake in Somerset, Kentucky is another one of our favorite places to camp. You’re right on Lake Cumberland, which is the second largest lake in the Cumberland River system. There’s plenty of places to hike, fish, and enjoy nature here.
